Had a very nice day in London today exploring the Tower of London.

It was bloody hot in the sun and plenty of water to drink was in order.

Traffic - went on the train. Going was OK but on the way back had the speed restrictions. 60 MPH only.

Felt like John Miles in "Ice Cold in Alex" when we got back. Couldn't wait to crack open a cold one. (Movie link - should this belong in another thread?)

Still a good day was had. Golf tomorrow!!!

    Cheers SimonV

What can I say, like you I work in a school but we are on that same contract as the science techs and get the holidays off (at the moment). Sounds good but the pay isn't up to the current rates, but hey you can't have everything.

Anyway just seen the new and weather and it was 34 degrees.

    Thought I was sweating abit

Sorry Jakamoko, I haven't bought any bread for a while but I heard on the news the price was going up....scandlous! :x

Was it really thundering and lightening up in Scotland a couple of days ago?! :?:

Today is dull and overcast but it's still warm, mind you, not as warm as yesterday, thank god! I've been close to passing out at work! It's alright when you're on your jollys but going to work in this heat is awful!! Makes me want to shave my head! Get rid of all this hair!!

Ooh...traffic is normal...just ok....but then isn't it the traffic thats causing this intense heat in the first place....global warming and all that? I don't know!

    Hey everyone,

Just been looking at the poll, and technically the option to put the Thread down is winning   ............. let me explain

    1. There are 5 options to choose from

    2. 4 of which are, to all intense purposes, a 'Yes' option in which a total of 6 people have voted

    3. Only 1 of the options is a 'No' option in which a total of 4 people have voted

So looking at it that way it should be put down, HOWEVER, I am just being perdantic so forget i said anything

50 up with this reply, a record but hopefully not the end of the road for this fine thread. So I leave you (until Sunday anyway) with this question: What was the best thing before sliced bread?

    Hmmm, good question, Luton -

    1.) No Toaster manufactures ?

2.) Nothing to land butter-side down EVERY TIME

3.) Dairylea Spread hadn't been invented (DISASTER !!!)

4.) Those wee mini-pots of jam that it's great to nick from hotels ?

The implications are horrendous of what could (not) have been ! I'm really upset at this, and will need to spend significant time investigating the ramifications of this issue.

Depending on Local Policy, and the Policy of CertForums, it may in fact indeed be deemed necessary to seek further intervention, and ultimately a full-blown request for a UN Resolution on the matter.

In fact, in light of these revelations, the following applies, with immediate effect :-

All CertForums Memberships are now null and void, and this site will now self-destruct in 5 seconds :bluegrab

Thursday night... 9pm and 25c indoors

Either I will need to go to work nude tomorrow (a sight best kept for the beach) or work all day in the server room (as it is known as the fridge)

    IT's FRIDAY.........

Friday morn and all is well,

A little foggy here this morning, and howmany cas did I see this morning with there FOG LIGHTS on, do they not realise that it is an offence to use your fog light unless visability is down to 100 yds or less, either that or they just like blinding people.

Still it's hot and sticky at the mo, going to turn the air con down in the office.

    Sandy

Funny that cause our server room is known as the same thing

We've just had a major thunderstorm up here.

I got struck by lightning on my way to work (well, sort of).

I was riding my bike and I take a shortcut over a field. There's a couple of trees there but I'm mainly out in the open.
Anyway suddenly a massive roar of thunder came out of nowhere.
I started to peddle quit hard while chanting "oh sh$* , oh s$%t, oh....."

Next thing a huge flash blinded my vision for a second.I stopped riding for a sec, checked I was alright and then carried on.

When I got to work at the hospital I felt really sick and my head was banging (yes it was a Monday but I'm not usually this bad). After a couple of people mentioned how pale I looked I explained what had happened.

I said I couldn't have been hit otherwise I'd be dead or pretty much.
One of the doctors very quickly checked I was OK and he said I could have road into an area that had built up a load of ions (whatever that means).Apparently he said that this happens just before a strike.

I don't know if there's any truth in that but something weird happened and I'm just glad I didn't get struck.Weird how my last post said that "your gonna die one day" and the next day that happens.

The hospital took a direct hit later in the morning.I've not encountered a storm like that in a long time around here. It's passed now and the suns shining a bit.

I know lightning and that is kind of cool but I was pretty glad when this episode passed.

    So, how was your morning?

Sorry mate, we seem to have got our wires crossed, what i meant was that we had fun at our BBQ on sunday, however if we had had the same experience as you have had then the day would not have been as much fun as it was (I mean you have to laugh........we had a BBQ in a thunder storm).
