Just ordered books for 70-620, 70-622, and 70-623 from Amazon. Oh, and a study guide for RFID+ (slightly off-topic for this forum, but I work with a lot of cattle tag scanners, so...).

Next stop is Dell so I can order a Vostro contaminated with a business version of Vista (better deal than buying a standalone copy of the OS). Up until this point I've managed to avoid running the bastard (Vista) on a personal system.

Looks like I'm back in the certification game again. Whee.

Way to go! 8) Just reading the Sybex 70-622 myself.

Good luck with the studies, though I doubt you'll need it... ahem at the risk of repeating myself... :D I thoroughly recommend the Boson ExSim Max for the 70-620...

Er, thanks, but I don't use exam sim products. Either I know the product well enough to pass the exam, or I don't. I'd rather spend my time learning the product rather than "learning the exam", y'know?

I guess asking you to be a product tester would be out of the question, then? :biggrin

Did you grab the MSPress book or the Sybex book for 70-620? Hopefully, the Sybex book... you're in the acknowledgements. :)

    Acknowledgements?!? :blink

Um, I order Sybex whenever I can, to be honest. Kind of like the playoff beard hockey players sport. Tradition. It's important.

Product tester? For you I'd be willing, but I wouldn't go near other products, especially those whose initials are PL.

I've found that reading obscure MS KB articles is the best prep for MS exams. I'd swear that a fifth of the questions in the 70-270 exam I took were lifted directly from KB articles, especially those dealing with APIPA, STOP errors, and boot issues.

As an aside, I've written enough practice questions for exam sim products that I can't go near the damn things without breaking out in hives now. Ptui.

Yep... eighth paragraph down, to the left of sc0rp. :) That "Q" is you. :)

Completely. Park on the same side of the testing center building, do the same "pre-game" prep, etc.

Send me a PM with your current e-mail addy and I'll send you info. :)

Regarding PL: you really ought to give GBL some info regarding them... he often endorses them.

...and reviewing them might bring back flashbacks... :blink Dude, I don't wanna make you freak out! :ohmy:p

Wish I coulda got you and ;De on board at the old company, way back then... but at the time, I think management was just "mailing it in", not really trying anymore. :(

I just dropped $3700 on a system infected with Vista (with XP downgrade rights so it will become usable after I pass my exams). Don't think the day can get any worse right now.

If you have the right training materials, and you have scored well on any testing software, then you will hopefully be fine...

I'm not gonna get into a pissing match about whose products are better. But if I weren't absolutely convinced that Josh and I and the team we trained put out the best products on the market, I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing anymore.

I'll tell you what when BM & Josh get the A+ practice exams sorted, I'll do a complete review of Bosons, PL & TR and I'll make it a complete test for each one caparing the 3 from ease of use, gui design & how they are well they are written.

Since I have the PL & TR ones now I could do a peliminary one on those two and just wait until the Boson ones are ready for my perusal.

I havent got vista yet. As a product I could have done a review but it would probably have be best if I had some experience in vista so I knew what the exam was reffering to. But I have your book now so that'll give me a bit of idea.

Edit: let me know as soon as the A+, N+ or MCDST versions are done and I can do one on any of those :)

GiddyG doesn't have Vista yet, and that didn't stop him. ;) Just sayin'. 8)

You are right, though: it would be best to have experience in Vista first. :)

We're wrapping up A+ Essentials... will keep you posted!

    1. I'd prefer not to single out any particular individual. That book is closed and I'd just like to move on for the most part. I shouldn't have said anything to begin with, but that's an injury that hasn't healed well and I sometimes forget myself.

    2. PL may have since improved. Don't know. Don't care. I'm still busy scrubbing stains out of my soul that I got from my previous association with people that I should have known better than to associate myself with.

    3. Who my friends choose to write, or not write for, is their own business, as are any stains they may find on their respective souls. Their problem, not mine.

    4. No offence to M&J who make their living from exam sims, or to others who swear by them, but I really don't find them all that useful in my own exam prep.

..and that's all I have to say on this matter. Pardon me while I exit this thread so I don't wind up venting on topics that are best left alone.

I didn't say anything about who was better then the other. What I am saying is that they aren't the trash they were a few years back. They do have good writers working for them, and people do pass their exams using them Mike. Boson will always come out of my mouth first. But if someone is to ask me about prep logic I would not honestly be able to slam them anymore. If I did it would just be because of personal reason and nothing to do with the product they produce now.
