    Hi Everyone.

Been invited for an interview for the position listed in the title. I have been reading the interview preparation thread. However I have lost the job advertisement. The company is said to be specialists in secure mental health. http://www.blenheim-forensics.co.uk/default.asp?sID=1&pID=1.
I will be calling them up to ask for the job spec but don't know if thats a good idea as it ll show how unorganized i am.

May I ask if anyone knows roughly, the nature of this role ? apart from learning about the company what knowledge should i have before attempting the interview besides my experiences. What would they be looking for, for their potential IT officer ?

I ve graduated with a multimedia computing degree, studying MCSE, was IT support experience at my local college. I can build and fix computer systems, have loads of experience with installing and removing software. Learnt cisco, can set up networks/wireless networks etc ...

I see this role as a first step into my desired career but not sure if its a good enough foundation for later when i will be applying for jobs once i am MCSE qualified.

Either way I am interested in this role as its more pay than my current jobs and that its to do with IT.

What do you guys suggest ?

    Have a nice day everyone

Sounds OK to me. 'IT Officer' doesn't sound like a helpdesk role, depending on the size of the organisation you may end up in one of those 'holy grail' positions for new starters - one where you get responsibility for EVERYTHING - from the printers right up the LAN/WAN/Firewall infrastructure.

Good luck - and don't worry about saying you've lost the job spec, you can always lie and say that it was sent in a format that your PC can't read...
