Personally, I would surf the jobs boards (like this) out there for a rough idea of what's required.

Well, if you're looking for professionals, you're not going to find many people more professional than Zeb and Jonny and Ken.

That said, you're not looking for professionals. You're looking for Swedes.

Give it time, mate. This isn't real-time chat... and I'm not sure how many people from Sweden are on this forum. You're asking for something that is quite specific to that area of the world.

We just like to have a sense of humour from time to time. A forum can be fun too ya know. Try this, there's a language select on there somewhere!

    Meh...

Sorry, as the guys said. We have a sense of humour here and although we try to help where possible, this is a voluntary forum and not the job centre.

And incidentally, I know a guy who runs a pornserver and it works out very nicely for him, so I was only being half rubbish! :biggrin

    Lighten up. 8)

Very expensive though isn't it. I was in Stockholm last year for a weekend, 2 double vodka and cokes in a half decent bar was about 35 euros!

    They have higher wages ;)
And properties are less expensive and it is country with higher standard - roof of the Europe - you know what you are paying taxes for. I have liked Sweden since I was teeneager, read a lot about it. Still haven't been there.
I wish someone comes accross this tread and tells us how it is with IT jobs there.

Not much higher (if at all higher) than London are they mate?
Quick look on jobserve only shows 43 jobs, mostly SAP stuff. Noticed a service desk role though:

I believe all your 9 points are true.
But, there is a big problem.
The official language of Sweden is Swedish.
I think the education level is very high, so i bet they all speak fluent English.
However, the every day life probably they would like to speak Swedish.
If you chose the "hard way"( i done that) you move there, and try to start work (any work) than improve your Swedish and get better job .
Or You can try to find multinational companies who has interest in Sweden, and try to get a job with them than manoeuvre there. I think that could work both ways, Swedish company with UK interest or UK company with Swedish interest.
My experience is, moving between countries (where is a language barrier) very very difficult. But never impossible. So good luck.
Ps: if you have a family there you should ask their opinion, they know more than all of us.
