    Lol good summary but based on that I'm studying for old legacy stuff which isn't going to be much good ! :biggrin

    Ok maybe a bit premature :p

    I suppose 2020 is a good few years away yet :biggrin

    I did do some COBOL in my first IT job back in '90. Did some Oracle SQL on my degree course, got into the company (big ins one in B'mth) and asked where the SQL stuff was - no,no,no they said, we're still COBOL based, too expensive to switch to SQL lol

    Yeah me too, some companies were just ditching PDP-11's, many still had legacy mainframes.

    They are basically saying that people are moving to the main big vendors, but these will be redundant too in 2020. Yeah perhaps a bit of a bogus statement, sure there will be new innovative players but until then we're still stuck with the status quo and many of them will move with the technology with various degrees of success.
