I really had to laugh at the "Why can't I be root?" and "Did I need that?"

It's funny how even total newbies are smarter than that sometimes though. I was going to show a guy I'm teaching Debian to how to access root after telling him that's how to be "god" on his computer. His response? "I don't even want to know how to get there. I'd be sure to break something."
