Patching the game was the first thing I did when I got the game as I knew there was a patch available

Someone I know has been getting problems he says the latest Nvidia drivers are bugged and the problems he has been getting is whats happening to me.

I'm not sure but he says the its just the latest Nvidia drivers and I will have to wait for a better update.

I only have a gig a ram (ddr2) as a one gig dimm, where I was expecting to see 2 512s when I opened up the computer could this be causing a problem?

In this instance, mate, because of requirements in game development that is a very long story, I'd go with declaring the game being buggy.

Regarding your RAM, in this partular situation 1gig is 1gig. Judging from what you have described so far the problem lies with your graphics subsystem. BTW, which card do you have?

No, your chipset must be specifically listed.

    No probs, mate. :biggrin

When purchasing a graphics card for gaming always try to purchase the best you can from the 'enthusiast range'. Regarding nVidia's 8000 series cards, current games seem to have poor support for them. I'm assuming your card is fairly new, so if I were in your shoes I would have gone for a high-end 7800/7900 series to ensure greatest compatability - also if you don't mind living without DX10 support for now.

I am going to get 8800gtx in about 6 months so I am hoping there is more support for them by then.

Awesome! Just make sure that you get a great power supply to accompany it! :biggrin
