Is it me, or is it IE9?

This is becoming a real pain in the backside.

I tried the IE9 Beta when it first came out and wasn't fussed either way. I uninstalled it in the end due to protests of MrsMX who couldn't handle the fact that the favorites were now on the right.

Anyway, it's back now as part of a recent MS update and I've decided to go with the flow.

The new Waitrose site doesn't work. After MrsMX shouted at them for a while, they admitted that their new site doesn't work properly with IE at all (obviously some poncey anti-MS designer) and asked me if I could please install Firefox and stop MrsMX shouting at them.

I can't post to my OU forum, I need to use Firefox for that, and today the BT Yahoo page won't load, although Firefox again says different.

I'm sure all you Firefox users out there will come up with something along the lines of 'told you so' - but what on earth is going on? Despite being an MS boy, at the moment I'm not finding my web experienced has been 'enrichened'.

    ITS NOT YOU MX

I have to agree that IE9 is rubbish.
I am a big fan of Chrome but from time to time need use IE as some sites don't function in all browsers the same way.

Problems with to many sites and poor layout. IE9 is a fail for me.

I don't recall seeing issues at Yahoo... but have you tried using the "compatibility" button on those sites which fail to show correctly in IE9?

The Yahoo thing seems to have sorted itself out.
I have used the compatibility function, but I'd rather not have to...

I don't know what to be annoyed about - Microsoft thinking they can bring out new stuff just because they can, and expect everyone to catch up and start using it, or developers who don't keep up with trends and test their work properly across platforms.

I think I'll be annoyed about both, it's my default state.

I personally had a few issues with IE9... some sites don't render correctly and crashes on my system even though I have a fresh install of the OS... I've always stuck to FF and Chrome to be honest, I have best experience with those two.

Had to uninstall it myself in the work system, our CRM program uses IE to render the "email from ticket" windows which steadfastly refused to let me enter any text in it.

Opera at work, Firefox at home, winning combo.
