Anyone been in admin and contracted around had any experience with our good friend and prime minister unelect Gordon Brown with regard to IR35?

Just trying to determine if the nature of system administration (set hours, set workload etc) has any bearing on whether a system administrator (can be 1st-2nd or 3rd line) is more susceptable to being inside IR35 than a programmer.

Would be very interested to hear about any case studies if we have any :)

I think it's more to do whether you are employed by the client you are working for, not necessarily the type of IT work you do.

Have you checked out http://www.contractoruk.com/ forums? They are pretty much IT contractors over there.

Other than that - afraid I can't help. Sorry
