It boggles my mind, too, about the frenzy that seemed to occur yesterday morning with people being unable to pre-order over the Internet. I rarely pre-order items I haven't used. I'll wait a couple of weeks for stores to get them in stock and then I'll go check out the new models to see whether it's worth the upgrade. Fortunately, my 3G still has a pretty good resale value, so I won't have to pay much out of pocket (hopefully).

oh my 3G is about ready for the scrap heap, it lasts 4 hours on a charge if i chose to you know, use it, the back is scratched and cracked.. i'm not convinced it will sell, doh!

apparantly they sold 600'000 pre orders yesterday, 10 times as many as the 3GS, pretty damn crazy!

Yeah I saw, the only preorder I have seen over here is the offical Apple one but they were wanting arround £495 for the 16gb one unlocked, so I am waiting till o2 get their finger out, but I have a sneaky feeling that they wont allow orders until the 24th which will annoy me...

The iphone software updates are free, depending on the version of the phone you have however will limit how much of the update you can apply to your phone (as in what functionality will or won't work). New for this release is the fact that ipod touch users also get the update for free (in the past they were paid for updates).

Upgrading my 3G to iOS4 now, but will be picking up an iPhone 4 later in the week..

Like Pheonix, I am happy with my iPhone and having done Sony Ericsson, Nokia, BB, Palm, Windows CE/mobile, etc ... I think it does what it does very well.

I had a choice between the iPad and the iPhone4 ... but have gone with the iPhone so that I can get a SIM only deal for the 3G and hand it down to my wife.

Just had a call from o2 and as I am one of their "high value customers" they are prioritising me for the upgrade which will be delivered to my home address on Thursday.

However due to "security concerns" I couldnt get it delivered to work as I usually do which is annoying as was the sudden hike from £7.50 to £15 for the insurance per month. I told them they could jog on for that!

Long and short new phone on Thursday :D

£45/month on the contract + £7.50 for the insurance so £52.50. Very rarely go over that tbh. Did you register your interest with o2 for the new phone?
