Seeing as I can't access logmein or alternatives through the filtered Internet at work I'm contemplating getting a iPad 2 with 3G

I would use it to access my lab server over 3G via logmein

Will this work reliably over 3G with a good signal?

    Anyone do this currently?

    In a word, yes.

As long as the signal is steady enough it should be fine. I use it on my iPhone in emergencies.

Thanks. I'm thinking of selling my iPad 1 16gb wifi and replacing it with the 2 3G

Agreed, I have a GiffGaff sim in mine and in strong O2 areas, it's great. Recently I was remoting on two servers (for two different organisations) sorting out issues :)
