Hey all! I was curious what versions (Switch/Router) of the cisco IOS I would need to scrape by for the CCNA and some portions of the CCNP? I'm starting to build a lab (on a budget of ~600$) to work towards those certs, and I'm wondering how old I can go with switches and routers and still have the functionality I need to pass the exams. Thanks!

Real gear is always best, but have you considered simulators?

if you look on ebay many kits are sold. Be caresulg who you choose to get from as ebay generally has fakes kicking about.

I would definately go for real kit if you have the budget. (i spent about £300 on my lab, 3x routers + 2x switches)
