Interview for ICT Service Desk Support

    Hello to the cert forums community.

    I can’t believe the e-mail I just got regarding an ICT service support technician in a local council building, I took a theory test to see if I was up for it (The test covered Microsoft office, General hardware faults, Protocols and Microsoft active directory) I never expected to pass it considering I have no real experience regarding network administration and this is my first real interview:blink

    They have invited me back for a formal interview on the 22nd - any pointers you could give me?

    I still can’t believe it, im in shock :oops:

    well done fella.

    focus on any previous cuter service experience and that you are a team player. be yourself and honets in the interview and you should be fine as you seem technically minded having passed a couple of very tough certs already.

    here are some questions i was asked in my last interview and im still there yet

    so here goes:

    what attracted you to IT
    how do you cope on a stressful day
    how do you relate to team members on a stressful day
    what experience do you have of remote technologies
    how do you feel about transfering from the environment your in to a busy, corporate service desk
    what is your definition of ict duties

    that should give you some pointers

    remember that the key is service delivery so the balance between user support and tech knowledge should be clear from you at your interview
