    Start -> Run -> Regedit

    Registry Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

    Create the Value Name [Window Title] as a STRING (or modify an already present one)

    Data Type: REG_SZ [String Value]
    Value Data: Enter The Text Desired In Title Bar

    Exit Registry and Reboot

    EDIT: just tested, apparantlty you dont need a reboot in XP Pro

    i dont use IE for much, it now says 'Gmail - Pheonet Explorer'
    lol

    You could always use the group policy setting for this. Go to run and type gpedit.msc then find the approriate option.

    Its under >User configuration>Windows settings>Internet Explorer Interface> Browser Title

    Just a thought, but as you cant join an XP home machine to a Domain you might not be able to apply group policy as they are usually Domain related.

    I'll stand back now and get ready to be shot down in flames :devilflam

    I was just about to mention that, don't go too crazy noel, at least until you back up the registry anyway.

    If you ask me, without backing up the registry, your asking for trouble.

    After all the problems you've had recently noel, you don't need anymore headache's lol

    Start -> Run -> Regedit

    make sure 'My computer' is selected, not one of the subtrees

    click 'File -> Export'

    save it as a file

    Noel, if you are after a lot of things to do with the registry and tweaking, then here is a good place for you. I like to pick up new settings occasionally and then write a vbs script to do it for me.

    Don't forget editing the registry can be hazardous so back it up every time before you want to edit it.

    Thanks Nugget...I think it will be good practice...(no that I think one needs it for the A+ exam) but for personal use and in case someone else has a problem with their registry...(cant be too careful when the kids decide to go astray :D)
