I recently had a problem where I could not see any of my devices in Device Manager. I reinstalled Windows Xp and that fixed the problem. All my devices are working properly except my intergrated sound card builit into my ATX motherboard. I think I found the CD-ROM that came with the motherboard and tried running the setup program for Windows Xp but Windows media player will not work and the same with my othe sound programs.
What is weird is that I seems some files listed in Device Manager under the Sound category. Can someone help.

    Thanks,
    Professor Falken

Since you've done the reinstall, have you been to the Windows Update site and performed a Custom Update?

There may be updated driver files available.

Look in Device manager - are any devices shown not working?

When you reinstalled did you install the motherboard drivers as well as the cound drivers?
