Aloha, thank you for coming and clicking on this thread you will probably stop me from pulling my hair out! :)

My question is regarding setting up the 2600 series router, giving it an IP address etc... (I know simple stuff but something got me stuck)

I've been working through the CBT nuggets videos and managed to get my switch (2950) setup and rocking, no problems there. Have my switch's Vlan setup, and ready for terminal or ssh on the vty lines. The problem comes when I have a console connection to the router initially and trying to assign an address etc to the router. Now the confusing part is... When working through Jeremy's videos hes using a home cable/adsl router with Ethernet wan connectivity, I have no idea how this corresponds to what I've got. Ill post below my ip int brief.

Ethernet0/0 unassigned YES NVRAM administratively down down
Serial0/0 unassigned YES unset administratively down down
BRI0/0 unassigned YES NVRAM administratively down down
BRI0/0:1 unassigned YES unset administratively down down
BRI0/0:2 unassigned YES unset administratively down down
    Router#

The real question is, Im unsure as to what interfaces I should be assigning which address (public / private IP address). My routers all have WIC1T serial interfaces with ISDN cards.

The above may have made no sense, apologies if not, I am rather confused :)

Your help is allways very much appreciated.

    Kind Regards,

    Brad.
