hey guys, on thursday i'm going to a school for an open Recruitment for several positions, one of these post is an ICT techy position and i've managed to get myself an appointment with the Recruiter and i'm wondering what should i do to impress the Recruiter so I could land hopefully an interview for the position?

    research about the school?
    research the position?
    dressing smartly?

Zeb - you might be right there you know kid!

Both of you are of a similar age.
Both of you have "a few / one or two" certifications
Zeb's location is "Croydon - arsehole of the universe" and we all know that's South Coast, which again is dmarsh's location.

Do i hear a first ever Cert Forums' family re-union people?

    1) Check out www.edugeek.net - loads of stuff on there

    2) You need to know about the school, their focus, how many kids, ages and future I.T. development (maybe even worth looking into Building Schools for Future position - does it allready have it)

    3) Prioritisation of jobs e.g. Student, Staff, Senior Mangement. Senior mangement mouse is a bit jolty but a kid has just walked in and can't login who do you choose. In interview you say student but in reality you would always need to look after the SMT :) - for obvious reasons.

    4) How would you deal with a child who is acting up, aggressive etc?

    5) How would you deal with a staff member demanding things or acting aggressive etc?

    6) Most likely have a test e.g. A computer with bits disconnected like RAM (you have to get it working)

    7) How you would find out information if you didn't know how to do it.

    8) Difference between a School and Buissness environment

    9) Do expect usual questions such as where you see yourself in 5 years time, strengths, weakness.

The above were stuff I got in my school interviews and ive had 3.

well it turned out it was just a big 'visit the school' event and there was loads of people interested in the position, I think a good 30 odd people turned up for it infact someone i worked with at uni went to it and he only wants the job cause it 'easy' and that really pissed me off with him (sorry for the language!!!) as I would love the chance to work there but I really doubt I'll get recalled for the interview due to poor grades and lack of experience :-(, but him saying he wants cause its 'easy' is really doing my nut in as some people like me getting a job like would be better then winning 100 million on the lottery.
