IMAP and POP are used to receive, not send. SMTP is used to send.

Ok, I've set up mail server on IIS6 and I was going to install roundcube so I could check my emails over the browser but it's asking me for IMAP details so is it actually possible to have IMAP on IIS6 or I would have to use another, third party software if so is there any free one?

As said IIS only offers SMTP. Therefore you can only *send* emails from IIS. You will need a third party product.
