I've got the A+, Network+ and I should be attempting the MCDST in the next couple of months. If I pass the latter, are there are any other IT skills I should seek to aquire as opposed to further certs?

Perhaps I should've added a question mark to the title of this thread:biggrin:oops:

Otherwise, it looks like I'm demanding that if you've said certs, you must gain further skills.:ohmy

Just real-world experience. If you're already a desktop support tech in a domain environment, try to get some server admin experience.

You can do the MCDST upgrade in VISTA and Windows 7. BosonMichael's and BosonJosh's book MCTS: Microsoft Windows Vista Client Configuration Study Guide Exam 70-620 is pretty good it's taught me lot about managing Vista and I never used it yet although I do have it.:D

I have the MCTS windows 7 configuration guide exam 70-680 book by William panek too but havent read it yet.

As for skills try and do as much practicing and hands on experience as you can get.
