    But why not have dreams?

    I don't need to fly first class, but it would be nice and if I won the lottery, its something I could do frequently. Wasn't actually bragging, more a case of answering Julez question and leading on from him saying what he would do in that situation.

    I am very happy with my life at the moment, both work and personal. Money is certainly controlling my life at the moment as we are paying for a wedding, but wedding aside..... we are more than happy I think.

    Once the wedding is over we have places we want to go, things we want to see. If the lottery win came along, we would still go to the same places and see the same things, just in a bit more luxury than we can afford at the moment.

    dont worry mate, Everyones different Id wear silk suits and ride on horse back and bath in sparkling water, not bothered what people think lifes too short if you get the oppourtunity to have fun and live lavish then why not.

    I almost did similar a few years back, but i have to say - ConfigMgr has been good to me, it's given me huge opportunities career wise, and i find myself enjoying it more and more as the versions go on.

    Aside from right now, most of the time the money is actually a depreciation because interest rates up until about 2015, have been lower than inflation.

    you could fix one of the most annoying things about IT exams. Open a place in the dead spots of which there are many :)

    either way with 50 million interest or not you could quit your job and not worry about finances again. Your kids kids could live of it.

    True. Besides if I had 50 mil, I'd be quite satisfied with a decent house, a Tesla Model S, maybe a little business.

    When I was younger I would certainly have done much the same as others here, Aston Martin, massive house, travelling etc etc. Now?

    Ford Focus ST, new computer, nice (but not ridiculous) holiday, back to work Monday. I'm 3 months into my new role and couldn't be happier and if I wasn't working I would get bored FAST even with all the money in the world.

    Hobbies only take up so much time, and mind all involve other people who have to work for a living.

    And as for the house? Me and the wife have discussed it and we'd pay off the mortgage and stay put, its home and we have the rare situation at the moment that we actually like all our neighbours! there would be a hot tub in the garden though

    Quit but I would work my notice period – regardless of the cash it’s taken me a very long time to build up all the customer networks\contacts etc. over the years so difficult to just walk away.

    I would start up on my own and offer IT services to charities who don’t have much cash to spend. Could build my own data centre! :)

    The first bit is what I would do, plus I don't think people realise the benefit to working their notice period. It's the right thing to do for starters but you can also do it in style. You can turn up in a lambo, fur coat, what ever is your preference :)

    I would go into property full time. Possibly get into the new build game buying a plot of land to build on. I say this, if you win over 20 million, there's not that much point stressing about anything I don't think. A lot would depend on the amount.

    Here's one for you. HOW MUCH would you have to win to quit? That's a way harder question I think but lets go for the bare minimum figure. I think to quit the job I do now, entirely, it would have to be about 3 million at the absolute least, and that would mean I HAD to get invest in property, not because I wanted to, but because if I didn't I'd seriously worry about running out of money in my twilight years when I can no longer earn a bean.

    I think to not worry about working in any shape or form I'd be looking at a minimum of 10 million and even then, I'd get a bit paranoid I'd burn through it or not leave the kids much

    Please note this is a very Friday conversation because my brain is literally liquefied after the week I've had :)

    I like to think I'd be professional about it and not leave in my colleagues in the lurch by simply walking out the next day but then again who knows how anyone would react to receiving a massive lottery win.
