IE has started to close for no apparent reason when I'm browsing.

I've ran a virus scan and adaware, and everything's clean.

IE will freeze and become unresponsive (though I can still move the cursor and use other open applications).
After a few seconds of unresponsiveness, IE closes.

I have limited disk space left on my laptop, about 2 GB's.
Thought it may be a paging file problem, ie lack of space (machine has 1GB physical RAM).
This would require the paging file to have about 3-4GB of space?
Don't think is the problem, but might be worth looking at anyway.

I've deleted 'Temporary files' just now, so will see if that makes a difference.

Any suggestions in the meantime are welcome.:D

    Hello Flex,

I would check event viewer to see if any errors are logged at the time of closing.
    Also
When system resources get too low, to run IE6, (or any other application) your machine will either freeze up or the program will close.

Check your system resources in Configuration manager after an application shuts itself down

    Hope this Help.

Deff not - those are ample amounts of leeway. That's not yer problem.

Initial thoughts - you have posted recently that you are now trialling Opera, you still have Firefox, and IE is experiencing probs ....?

Strip the system back to bare bones Flex - eliminate all possible causes. 3 browsers is gonna be a load of .dll's looking for a fight, I'd guess. Remove Opera and Firefox, do a repair install of IE6, and see if the prob persists.

    HTH :D
