I3, I5 or I7 and Acer or Lenovo

Hey! I'm planning to get a new laptop and basically the purpose is for my work. I'm not a gamer. Browsing, using excel, reading blogs, social networking are my normal tasks in a day. So I am thinking of what would be the best for me. Thinking of either I3, I5 or I7...do they have big difference on each other? And for the brand, i think acer is highly preferred in general but a friend of mine told me lenovo works well in the office for its durability. Feel free to post your comments here.
