I wonder

    How would i go about tracing the owners of a site or even the creators???

    Start with the utility "whois".

    The names and details of a site's creators are usualy in plain sight - unless it is so bad they don't want to admit to it. :biggrin

    Sometime looking at the source of the page helps as well.

    Have a look at the meta tags of the page (view > source) to see if the creator has put their name in or some copyright details. There may also be comment tags on scripts telling you who wrote it and what will happen to you if you steal it.
    Generally they'll put there company name or logo in plain sight on the page though.
