hi everyone , i sent 6 cv's and had replies off 2 (one with no luck and the other has put my cv on file for any jobs that appear)

question is what do i do next?

obviously i should still be sending them off to other companies but can you reccomend anything else i should do?

e.g phone them up and see if they have time to discuss my cv

i only have the above idea in my mind at the moment

    thanks :)

    Send off another 200! :biggrin

Normally I would advise you to phone or follow up your application.
Sometimes showing some persistance can help you.

However, in the current economic climate most job applications are so swamped that I'm amazed that you got two responses out of six. Generally you don't get any.

    But it doesn't hurt.
If it's a job you really want, badger them.
    Turn up.
Find out who the HR person is and email them directly.
    Hold their cat to ransom.

It all depends on how much effort you want to put into getting the job.
That assumes, by the way, that it's a job you're qualified for - otherwise you'll just be annoying.

You'd be lucky if you can get thru to them... If they are anything like us, they are very busy... I would say either e-mail them or send them a letter for feedback.

I don't want to come over as a grammar Nazi, as I have before...
I'm by no means perfect, and neither are the rest of us.

However, I'm assuming that your CVs and covering letters are written professionally.

Your OP doesn't read very well from a spelling/grammar point of view, and that can put employers off.

    I agree with adolf ;)

However, 2 responses out of 6 is pretty damn good, keep sending them off, 6 is by no means a huge amount of applications. Keep at it. You will get in eventually.
