HOWTO: Restoring Windows XP

    Seems like restoring Windows is becoming a common question here so I think we need to have a HOWTO on it, from the Microsoft KB that is!

    question though - what would one do when they try a restore and it fails (no matter which restore point they have created / or created automatically by the OS)...

    Format the drive and re-install???

    funny thing is i never use system restore. When im happy with my systems setup i ghost the drive and restore from that or else wipe and start afresh.... Mind you i do do a lot of messing with my systems config and hardware and a sys restore isnt always the answer.

    Zimbo, you need to post the link that you forgot for that KB. It illegal to post parts of it without it. They consider it infringing on their copyrights and piracy laws. :eek:
