How valid is the Linux + qualification

    Hi All,

    I am currently working my way through the MCSE track but would also like to broaden my Linux knowledge. I work for a big firm and a lot of the jobs I see often require some sun solaris and Linux experience.

    My question is, would I be along the right track by studying for the Linux + qualification if my objective was to bolster my Microsoft experience with Linux knowledge?

    Any help would be much appreciated

    The linux+ is the entry level non-vendor specific qualification. I would say that if you wanted a general, entry level solid foundation of Linux go for it (as well as using Linux on a machine).

    If you do the linux+ beta exam, it is only £69?! but you don't the result until september?

    Thanks fellas, seems just what I was looking for. I've dabbled with a version of Linux and thought it was brilliant but I couldn't even extract a program or do much at all! I'll add the Linux + to my wish list. Thanks

    :biggrin I am playing through it at the moment, it is great. 1+2 are still my favourites though!

    Shame we can't have the "Mysterious Stranger" perk to help with exams.

    Ha ha absolutely! I was devestated when I completed 3. Don't follow the main mission to find your dad all the time or you just complete the game! Do a load of side missions along the way because once its completed, you can't wonder around and do all the little missions :( :cry:

    Ah, I play it on the PC - which is supposed to be ok apparently. Will see when I get to needing the DLC, Have hardly explored the map so far. Work/Other Half/Study etc seems to take priority over playing games :x

    Yeah I got all my gameage in while my girl was pregnant. We've just had a little boy so no games and hardly any study for me and my 291 exam is next wednesday!!!! :eek:
