I passed my 413 exam today. Went to MS site and said I now have an MCSE in Cloud track!! I thought I still had 414 to take. Here are my exams and the date for when I passed.

413 Designing and Implementing a Server Infrastructure Oct 07, 2016
    411 Administering Windows Server 2012 Jan 14, 2015
410 Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012 Jan 11, 2015
74-409 Server Virtualization with Windows Server Hyper-V and System Center Specialist Dec 28, 2014

Now, I did take both Cloud exams 246 and 247 which I did not pass. So I decided to switch to Server Infrastructure track and take 413 and 414.

Anyway, how in the heck do I have an MCSE by only passing these 4 exams?? It is very clear on my transcript and certificate that I have MCSE now. I'm happy about it, but confused.

Thanks for your replies in advance!

This is strange, check if MS re-evaluated the exams you failed and gave you a pass instead.

Heard similar things that people have passed exams and then logged onto the MS site and got MCSE:whatever they were not expecting.

74-409 can be taken in place of 70-412 so, along with you 410 and 411 passes, that gave you MCSA 2012. Microsoft have just changed the way the MCSE works. In it's current form, you need to have an MCSA (which you had) and then take any one of the elective exams for the track you wish to certify in. 413 and 414 are in that list. You have to take an elective exam each year in order to keep your MCSE current. So wait 12 months until you do the 414 you had planned to take and use that to maintain your MCSE in it's second year :)

Oh and well done! I'm just about to take 74-409 and I'm planning on doing the 533 Azure exam for my elective later in the year.
