I AM PREPARING FOR THE A+ OS EXAM BY TAKING A COMPREHENSIVE PRACTICE EXAM. I PASSED THE EXAM BUT THERE ARE SOME QUESTIONS I DON’T KNOW THE ANSWER TO BECAUSE THE INFORMATION WAS NOT COVERED IN THE MIKE MEYERS BOOK. WHAT SHOULD I DO SHOULD I JUST FORGET ABOUT THOSE QUESTIONS SINCE I PASSED THE 494 QUESTION EXAM, OR SHOULD I FIND THE ANSWER TO THOSE QUESTIONS IN PRERPARTION FOR THE REAL EXAM. ALSO CAN I POST THEM ALL IN ONE MESSAGE OR DO I HAVE TO POST THEM INDIVIDUALLY.

    THANKS,

    Professor Falken

1- Posting in CAPS is a no no! You should know that by now...

2- How many times have you taken the "comprehensive practice exam"... as if you take them over and over again, you kinda remember the answers, if not, then you should be ready... most peeps recommend transcender a week before the exam, so they can find their weakness, and "cram" up before hand...

3- the questions that you did not know the answer to, dont ignore those questions, simply because they were not in the MM book. do some research on the questions/topics, search google, wiki, your A+ bookmarks, here, and ask questions!

Good luck - im sure you'll be fine...

btw: post in the relevant section (A+) and dont post copyrighted material...

Can I ask what the "Comprehensive Exam" was?

    Professor Falken,

I recommend that you review the A+ OS blueprint and if any of the terms do not make sense to you, then seek out the information until you understand.

How long are you going to study for this exam? Haven't you been "getting ready" since well before 21-Feb-2005?

Just go take it. If you're not ready for the A+ after two YEARS, I hate to say it, but you're not going to be able to continuously keep up with technology advances in IT.

I wish you the best of luck on your exam.

Agree with BBM, you've been taking a long time.... Go take it, if you fail, fine, so what. If you pass, great. I think you should just go for it... Now.

Prof, once you eventually pass the A+ can I ask what you plan on doing?

I assume that you don't already work in IT? As Mike said do you think that you will be able to 'cut-it' in the real world? :unsure

Just to address something that came up in the original post, you will never, ever, ever, ever know the answer to every question ever. Only Harry can make that claim.:D The key is having an understanding of the subjects at hand so in an exam you an at least make an educated guess. In real life of course, you can just look it up.

Just book the exam now, why? Because there is no pressure to pass the exam.

If you fail, revise again and retake the exam, if you pass then post here and get the “I’ve passed the A+” thread so everyone can congratulate you.

    It’s all good!! :biggrin
