With the number of members on the increase (up to 15 per day) I was just wondering how people found the forum.

I found CF through a roundabout way. I bought a magazine (now called Windows IT Pro), jumped on their website, found a link to another certification site, and then a friend posted a link to here, and now they can't get rid of me.:blink

I'll be one of the first to reply to this then.

I voted Training Provider but I wasn't recommended by them.

I did my Certs with NITLC and they have a Message Forum where a certain person (SimonV) who posted about a new chat forum. After viewing said forum and seeing that others from NITLC were also joining (Gavin, Sandy and others) I joined.

So I may not have been here officially from day 1, but I certainly was having a good old nose around. :biggrin

As above, I met SimonV whilst with Nitlc, and felt a certain idea he had at the time might just have some potential......8)

I was lurking on another US based Cert site when somebody posted a link. The UK spin to the site made a refreshing change so I stuck around :)

I seem to remember a certain NITLC tutor telling my XP workshop class about Sandy and Co starting an unofficial IT Cert type forum!

After that I visited a link posted by Gav in the NITLC forums about cetforums...but it was all in it's embryonic stage back then...

and then I completly forgot about it untill a google search on certification brought the site up! After a while I put 2 and 2 together and realised it was the same forum run by Gav etc...

    And that was that!

I had contacted NITLC to enquire about the MCDST certification, when they phoned me back the sales rep/instructor told me about the forum. I spent some time nosing around as a guest, before joining. Thanks to the info in the various threads, and the replies from other members I'll be starting the A+ certification next month. So the forum has already helped to get my arse in gear. :biggrin 8)

Person on another forum mentioned it and suggested I stop by. That's right when Si first created the thing. I started posting and was hooked. :biggrin

Well I was bored one evening and wondered what the heck can I do with the free web space, SQL database and php support that came with my ISP connection. I'll build a forum I thought....the rest as they say is history.

This probably hasn't been said enough, but thank you Si. While I like to think of CertForums as a team effort, without your vision, it wouldn't even exist. Kudos. :)

I am hoping to do a course with NITLC and searched the web to see if anyone had a site that actually said anything about them as a training provider. I will be handing over a lot of money to them and I wanted to check them out first so to speak. Saw this site, looked good so I saved it to my favourites and signed up.

Hopefully I will be able to start my MCSE course soon. :)

Liar. You were threatened with having your nose duct taped to your toes if you didn't join.

It's only bodily harm when you try to take the tape off. Extra points if you've got a lot of body hair.
