    Jack works with me.

He and 800 or so others try and get access to things that they shouldn't, then I have to plug the holes!

Keep up the good work Jack! :tongue

So is Jack a pupil at your school then Si? That is so cool - we didn't have a network manager when i was back at school - but then again, networking was never a strong point of the BBC Micro... :biggrin

I bet its a nightmare trying to stop all these wannabe 133t hax0rs from privilege escalation, WEP cracking and proxy evasion huh?

Just wait until they figure out how to get round your proxies by installing an SSH server at home and a client at school... oh, wait, I've said too much...<snip>

One of the places that the computer fair visits (that I run a help desk at) is at a local school/tech college. It also has Internet available (the only venue that does). This has some very odd rules for blocking URL's, amongst which is an automatic block on IP-address-only domains. This impacts Google searches somewhat.

So I do just what Zeb suggested - works a treat!

Based on the sizing of the options i'd have to say Large national corp, however if i took the parent company into respect it would be a Multinational and one of the largest technology retailers in EMEA

My company itself falls, I would consider somewhat of a medium sized company, however due to the nature of my role I am geared to working and consulting on systems far more complex and advanced than any we would need ourself in house

well my employer currently have about 50-60 members of staff, and thats since about 10-15 people have been employed in the last few weeks. Even tho we are based in the North East in Newcastle/Gateshead, we deal with companies as far as London Gatwick airport. So I would say we are a national company since we deal with a lot of companies and I mean a lot.

Do you have head quarters in various cities in the UK? Or do you just cover a wide area.

The company I used to work for covered all of England, Scotland and parts of Wales but I would not classify them as national company because their one and only office is in Kent.

I currently work for a small IT firm, there are 5 of us and we provide IT services to SMEs

Previously i worked in the Financial Services sector, we supported over 150,000 users...

Starting to miss the large corporation for some things though...
