Google down for ya? link :p

Microsoft hasn't offered POP3 and SMTP access for years... but if you've had your account prior to 1999, you can supposedly try the following:

    pop3.hotmail.com
    smtp.hotmail.com
    pop3.live.com
    smtp.live.com

I haven't used any of those. I simply set up Outlook to use HTTP Mail to download my Hotmail box to Outlook. However, I've also had my account prior to 1999, so those options may not work for you.

The official word from Microsoft: link

No, not wrong at all... I'm not convinced those pop3/smtp settings work, since Microsoft says they don't do POP3/SMTP anymore.

I've got five Hotmail accounts running under Outlook 2007 - but via HTTP, not POP3.

That said, I have had 'em for nearly ten years!

I heard that MS wouldn't allow Hotmail accounts registered after a certain date (can't remember the exact ones) to be accessed via POP3 or HTTP, so you may be out of luck depending on when you registered the account.

I'm with the other guys on Hotmail and a lack of POP settings.

If you need a redirectable webmail address, I suggest you go with Google mail (GMAIL?) nice and easy to configure, so I hear.
