I just did a few test on my homeplug. and it turns out, after two years of heavy usage, its dead. I got one that still works with the twin pack. But do other homeplugs work each other? or do they need to be the same make and model? the one I currently got working is:
    MSI Epower 85
    powerline ethernet bridge

I was looking at this as a replacement if I need to buy a twin pack:

    Resolved :D
apparently, most are compatible with each other. but they are not compatible with the 200MB AV ones because they are not HomePlug 1.0.
