Other than the obvious (I.T.) what are you various hobbies. How do you unwind people. Oh and it has to be at least a vaguely regular activity. The number of people I've met who claim snowboarding or surfing but have only been once!

You mean when I'm *not* writing? Geez. My other "obligations" are writing book reviews (and the stack is getting bigger all the time) and slowly learning python. After that, I read books and study the Bible. I do watch the TV show "House", but that's the only regular show I indulge in. I watched "Batman Begins" last night (again). Actually, I split it up over three nights, but because I couldn't find the time to watch it in a single night.

Let's see...I've taken to reading "graphic novels" before I go to sleep. Call it a nostalgia thing, but it's relaxing and doesn't stress the mind. Other "hobbies" include walking and going to "open houses" (I don't know if that exists in the UK, but sometimes when a real estate agent is trying to sell a house, they'll have an open invite for anyone to come inside and have a look around).

If I had the time and money, I'd probably travel.

Interesting subject, I have quite a few hobbies as it goes.. here we go...

Play for local football team every Thursday night (Training) and Sunday (Matches), Pool for the local team every Wednesday night, play online FPS's such as Call of Duty 4, goto the Cinema, go Swimming and Ice Skating every couple of weeks as well. Something else I do alot of is travelling, due to job commitments and money, I cant do the "usual" backpacking so I just go on lots of little travelling holidays. This year I've managed to goto Paris, Rome and New York on long weekend breaks and Kavos in Greece and Kusadasi in Turkey for week holidays.

Then a "live cash" poker game keeps me busy now and again. Then off course theres reading through all the various PDF files and that i've downloaded over the years and never realise I had until i open the folder. Boring really..........

Yep that is a good hobby I am trying to cut down from a box of stella at the weekend to drinking half of it then leaving half for the next weekend, I almost succeeded this weekend I had 3 bottles left.

My other Hobbies are gaming online and offline, snooker, driving away from my work, and walking the dog on big walks in the country side. I used to do Jiu Jitsu and various other martial arts but due to permanent bleeding in the blood vessels in my eyes I had to give up :(

Computer gaming, church-related activities, reading, spending quality time with my two boys. I used to scuba dive a lot, but haven't been much since my sons were born... looking into getting back into that. If I can round up the money, I'll probably start taking TaeKwonDo with my son.

Hob-bies. I had those, once :tongue

Nah, I like to have a lot on the go. I get bored and distracted easily, so I have a *huge* network of interests that mean when I do need to swerve my attention, it's to something worthwhile.

I went training recently with a view to starting playing football again, but have buggered my shoulder, so that, and all exercise, is currently on hiatus - though cycling should still be top of the list for the LEJoG if anything else!

I read a lot of fantasy fiction, and when I can't find a book that interests me I write my novels and short stories. I post on a variety of forums, I like to learn languages (concentrating on Latin and German at the moment). I used to collect Warhammer minatures. I forgot how to game with them long ago, and just paint them now. I love listening to music, also play pool (nXplosi - you'll have to come to one of the meets and have a playoff. I'll whoop you. lol.) Thanks to extraneous influences, I have also started studying/reading the Bible. It's surprisingly underrated :)

And then there's studying. The CCNA at the moment with a couple of other... err... projects.

And work. And sleeping. Apparently, I also have a boyfriend, so sometimes I see him too :biggrin

I am a big music fan. I've played guitar for more than 15 years. I used to play in a band, but stopped that as soon as I found out we had a little guy on the way. I couldn't imagine being away from my boy more than I already am with work and school.

Other than that... Xbox 360 on occasion (gamer tag: Fink N Bettie), I love to read, I love Star Wars, I'm a big wrestling fan, watching NHL hockey, Universal Monsters stuff, getting tattooed.... although you wouldn't know it by my appearance 99% of the time. :D Most importantly though I'm a family oriented guy. I'd pass up most everything to just take a walk with my wife, son, and 2 dogs. That's probably my most geeky trait. :)

Play bass in a band, takes up a lot of my time. Writing short stories, Tanqueray gin, movies, gaming, trying to think of new and inventive ways to wind up the missus. And I really do snowboard once a year

Oddly enough, I was going to put a very similar thread down earlier. A new love of my life is photography, especially natural photography (as in landscapes, wash your minds out) and concept photos. Over time, I've built up a collection of shots that I'll be honest I was just damn lucky to get, rather than skill based, and I am looking to submit these to image libraries. I've been reading up on digital photography recently and wanted to see if any of you guys have any interest in snapping at all?

    Lets see....

Well I like learning new things in IT, I guess that is a hobbie of mine since I do regualry. Going to the gym about 3-4 times a week. I used to do drag racing, not so much anymore though, it's an expensive hobbie. Boxing, martial arts, any sport with full contact. Soccer and basketball.
