We hide the local disk from the pupils using the group policies :

"Hide these specified drives in My Computer"
    &
"Prevent access to drives from My Computer"

and all is fine except when using Frontpage. When saving any web pages the local disk is still visible to the user and they are able to save them directly to the C:. In any other MS office app the local disk is not visible so the users can only save to floppy or their home folder.

Has anyone got a solution for this or can point me in the right direction please.

    Thanks, Si :D

Still not sorted this one out yet :( ,

AJ do you get the same as I know your using (or in the process of rolling out) Office 2003. Were using office 2000 so wondered if it was the version of office.

Just asked the network manager about this one. We did have an issue with Office with kids seeing the local drives by using the File Open command. He seem to think that stopping the OSA9.exe file from running helped to solve the problem.

I will make some more enquiries and let you know. What OS and version of Office are you using?

Could that be a default save to location setting within frontpage options ?

Getting there, the little app mentioned at the bottom of the above link works. It is made for FP 2002 but tried it and it worked.

Only thing is that we use a mandatory profile for the kids so I need to update the mandatory profile as the setting dont keep once logged out.

    Nearly there.......
