Or like some of us you can invest in proper enterprise level hardware and have your own lab environment where you can run more than 6 vm's at a time (my current setup has 9 vm's running each with 2 - 4gb of ram and 4tb of storage). Admittedly it costs money but it does also give you the knowledge that what you have built up was done by you (and you learn by your mistakes as well).

I actually have the Mike Meyers one, but the sixth edition, only the 600 series. Will there be much more in the 700 series exams that aren't in the 600s? Presumably just newer chips, memory, etc and more on Vista, plus 7? Is it risking taking the 700 exams after learning from only a 600 book?

I have the CD from the book as well so I'll be using those (it won't install on Win 7 so I'll have to do them on my XP PC)

Go to this page and it should tell you the differences between the exams.

Gotta weigh your risks... a new book (that covers BOTH exams) will cost you little... having to retake even a single exam will cost you a lot (and on top of that, you'll still probably need to buy the book!).

Good point, well made! It's currently £20 from Amazon so I may as well not take any unneccessary risks. Plus the newer one appears to have better info on the cd.
