Hi Guys,

Hopefully will be posting some soon, been reading some of the posts on the forum on and off for a while.

A bit about me...

I'm an IT Manager in a dead end job with no promotion prospects, and it certainly doesn't pay enough.
I'm only an IT manager as I was the only person left after the previous IT members jumped ship (including the manager) and I've been doing it for about 3 years now. In that time I have totally turned the IT department round, but I don't see myself in an IT manager role for the future as I am more hands on and prefer working with routers, switches and servers.

I completely self study and currenty have an A+, Network+, MCSA 2000 (I started this to go to MCSE but found it was pushing me more down the helpdesk route so stopped) and instead completed a CCNA. I have 13 years experience in IT ranging from cabling up to server and network installations, and from installing windows on a desktop PC to specifying WAN's, routers and setup, as well as site to site VPN's and long distance wireless bridges.

But do you think I can get a different job? no I can't

I'm currently studying and will be sitting this Saturday my CCNP:BCMSN which I am hoping to pass so I can get out of this job ;)

This obviously starts me down the CCDA route iirc however I am thinking of going down the CVoice route and only did the current CCNP as Switches really interest me and I thought it would be a nice complementary qualification for the exams required to complete the CVoice.

But anyway thats me, hi, hello and such. I'm open to advice, or pointers and look forward to having many a chat with you guys in the future.
