Hi all ! I´m Pablo from Argentina ! I´ve been in IT since +12 years ! started as Support Engineer for desktops , then servers , now I´m Wintel IT Specialist for IBM since 2006 .

I went through MS MCSE for Windows NT , MCSE for Windows 2000 , and MCSA for Windows 2003 , and after MCTS , MCITP.

    I´m trying to have the MCSA certification , I´ve started a couple years ago with 70-270 , and now i have 70-270 , 70-290 and 70-291 , Last february I went to achieve 70-284 for MCSA Messaging , but i get 580 points !

After that exam 70-284 was retired I Tough MCSA was gone , then i remembered I can go MCSA Security with 2 more exam .

Now all seems to be retired , is there a path to get MCSA ? The idea is after MCSA upgrade to MCTS , and MCITP in a couple years . All exams are covered by the company .

    regards

    pablo!

You only need one of the elective exams since you already have the two required networking exams and a client exam.

According to the MS website, you can use your MCSE2000 as an elective.

If not, there are still loads of elective options. Why not do another client exam such as 620 or 680?

Check out the MCP member site, there is a tool on there you can use to match up the exams you have passed with what certs you want, and it shows you what exams you have left to do

Why not do another client exam such as 620 or 680 ! You´re right ! I will see to prepare exam 70-620: TS: Configuring Microsoft Windows Vista Client or Exam 70-680:TS: Windows 7, Configuring !

The idea was to get MCSA as Messaging or Security , but if same Certification is valid , I´m happy !

I Think I will choose Exam 70-680:TS: Windows 7, Configuring due to can be usefull when I reach to MCITP !

    Thanks !
