I seem to have followed 'Paps' [Paparika] to this forum, glad i did.

Last week I attended an interview in Croydon for an internship with Apprenta, an ofshoot of ICS. I found a rather attractive ad for them in the Guardian offering full training in Microsoft.Net with no experience neccessary.. ah, sounded excellent.. In fact after attending the interview i got the niggly feeling everything just seemed too good to be true.. so i thought i would do a bit of quick research into them over the net.. and voila! I came across various threads in CertForum that appear to raise the same concerns.. Oops, i'll stop there and continue on the appropriate thread..

Anyways, its a new career i'm looking for and this looks like the forum to possibly provide some help and good advice.. i'm sure.

Hopefully some of you out there will be able to help me.. I've been tinkering with ACCESS at home and at work, slowly building and teaching myself the basics and familiarising myself with SQL.. the prospect of an MCDBA qualification appeals to me, i'm looking into the where?, how?, and how long? ..of it all at the mo.. (which is why that Apprenta thang looked so appealing.. but not so sure now..)

Arround how much would one expect to spend to attain the MCDBA certification (either in terms of books.. or classes).. or am i simplying a complicated process..? Jam

 

I haven't studied for the MCDBA so others can probably give better advice but given that it involves four exams covering Windows server products, networking and SQL etc. I would say that it would be quite tough. The Microsoft exams are not as easy as you might think. It took me three years to pass seven of them and that was full time study.

I wouldn't be surprised if it took you quite a while too.

Think i'm going to have to do a hell of a lot of research, buy the books and study at home.. methinks.. Just want to do this all in the shortest timespan..

damn.. I wish i pushed myself to do all this when i was younger..
