    Hey Gents and Ladies,

After searching forever for what I want to with my
life (even though im only 21) i kind of think im going
to fully focus on a career in IT. Im currenty trying
to work out whether I want to self study an a+
course or invest in one of the many course providers
around. Hoping you guys can help in my decision to
be honest... I probably just need a kick up the asre.

    Anyway glad to be here

    Sean

    Greetings :biggrin

The A+ is certianly the place to start for people looking to lay the foundations, for a career in IT.

As for self study Vs Training Provider, thats just down to personal choice.

I will say this though.I am currently with a training provider, whilst i have no gripes against them, what im basically doing is self study on my own from home,(i've just paid more cash for the privalige).

Yes i have some tutor support there if needed, but with great forums like this one around all the help is here if needed(and for free) :biggrin

Grab yourself the Mike Meyers book,an old PC or two to get some hands on with and away you go.

Focus on one Cert at a time, and most of all have fun while you learn. :biggrin

Got to go with the above!

I'll just add though that with a training provider you 'may' be given deadlines to meet. This means that if you want to get what you've paid for then you may just get that kick up the a$$ you've been looking for.

It all depends on weather or not you are able to motivate yourself to work.

    Oh, Welcome BTW! :biggrin
