    Hi,

    Completely new to IT, but want a career change, so about to start with a training provider. Hope this forum will be of some use to me :)

    I'm not entirely certain yet, still thinking it over, have spoke to Computeach who have said about doing the support professional qualifications. CompTIA A+ and that sort of thing. Think I would maybe like to go down the programming route eventually, but I'll see how I find it and make up my mind.

    Just be careful your not signing up for things which are not what you want to do. Whilst the A+ is a good cert to learn about hardware and the basics of operating systems it has nothing to do with programming.

    Also be careful that you are not sold courses which are for people who are already in IT and are at an experience level such as the MCSA, MCSE and CCNA. Having high level certs without on the job experience can go against you when looking for jobs.

    Have you tried picking up an A+ book and having a quick read through before going to a training company. You might find that self study may be a more viable option, plus it will also give you a taster of what you've let yourself in for :twisted:

    Good luck and you will find that from now on you will constantly be learning one thing or another :D
