Hello, welcome to the forums, I'm glad you joined.

1 or 2 certs a month! - that'll take some effort. Are you currently working? If so, how would you manage to put the time in to study and pass the CCNP within a month? I'm not by any means suggesting that you couldn't do it, but if you have a full-time job would imagine that it'll be extremely difficult.

Anyway, best of luck with your studies. :)

I know networking pretty well, I have my GCIA, which goes deeper into some of the protocols than cisco would ever dream of doing :-)

I have worked in IT for about 4 or 5 years, but that has mostly been with large ISP's, and I am a security guy... not Networking :P

I studied for the CCNA tests for like 7 days and passed the 2 parter with scores about ~900, so if that is a gague of the difficulty on the stuff, I think that I could(hopefully) do the ccnp at like 1 a month... I wanna get it before summer.

I am going to use the cisco press books, and some cbt nuggets...

I am planning on also using my lab at home, and hopefully I can get access to some lab equipment from the network guys at work :P

I know they have a few CAT 6509's and lots of different blades(fwsm, csm, 48 port, 10gig etc.)

At my house my lab is:

    Routers:
    1x 3640, running 12.4 enterprise + ipsec/blah blah blah
    2x 2501's
    1x 2507
4x linux routers with Quagga and OSPF/BGP running(4 nics per server)

    Switches:
    1x 3548XL
    1x 2900XL
    1x 2900
