My background is mainly in construction, been doing it over 3 years now and hated every second. still being only 21 thought i would at least try some sort of education to try and build a better future, not one freezing my arse off in the winter.
anyways computers have always been a massive interest of mine and since i have no clue what i want to do for the rest of my life thought i would give it a go.
so i went with a company called scheidegger ( which i knew nothing about at the time) was a little shocked by the cost at first and thought the sales bloke type thing was a little to 'pushy' but really wanted an extra door i could work towards getting it open. first 6 months went ok i suppose but didn't get to far into it (around 7 assighments 3 which were lost) due to working long hours and being in a physical job.

i recently got laid off and this is when i started reading up on this company, cant bring payments down a little even though im struggling to meet them, cant cancel even though without bragging i'd say the work is below me and would much prefered the study yourself and just sit the exams. at least then you know where you stand.

bah anyway rant over i just ended up getting quite pissed off reading about this company and how im not alone in how they treat people who actually really need what they so-called provide.
as i said i wandered onto the board while i was reading up on them but you all sound like nice people who help each other out so just thought i would say hello.

Hi Karl and welcome to the forum mate. Sorry to hear about the layoff but looking on the bright side you might be able to find a less strenuous job now and be able to study a bit more. As for the problems with your training provider, maybe you can get on the phone to them a bit more and make a 'pest' of yourself until they call you back or help you with whatever question you have. Another point is to always make a copy of your assignments (as backup) and maybe send them as registered post. Just a thought. There's also nothing stopping you (except cash at the moment:oops:) from getting a couple of extra study materials to work with.:D

Greetings, Karl. Welcome to Certforums. One of the guys I went to school with was getting out of construction. In his case, he was middle aged, had a back injury and needed to retrain. Sorry to hear about the lay off but hopefully, you'll have plenty of time to study. Let us know if there's anything we can do to help you along. :)

HI Karl, welcome to CF. Soz to hear about your employement troubles, but on the bright side you now have more time to study. :D

Also, I'm with Nugget on this one, phone your trainning company more often, and push for them to do something. If you keep it up, they will probly bend eventually.
