Noelg, I have the reg AMD ATHLON 64x2 And I don't see what the different is between mine and your black box. They have the same specs from what I can see. I have not compared the prices. But I would not pay more for it, if it is higher.

Here is your reason, Mitzs :biggrin you say u have a dual-core AMD? But what model is it? At present I am using a 4400 (2.2GHz) CPU and my new one I am going to be putting in my new PC is an AMD 6000 (3GHz). But with that black edition, the possibilities are endless :biggrin, I mean its at 3.20GHz already so imagine the amount of juice you can get out of it when you overclock it...I think 3.60GHz is the way forward...hmmm, if its still available by the end of Oct, I might just snatch one :biggrin

Hey I would go for the intel too, even though I also have an X2 at the moment.

Noelg, mine is the 6400, it is the same specs as the black one. That why I said to check out the reg one. I can't see any reason to pay extra for soemthing if they have the same specs.

That makes all of us mate lol...Mitzs I am still confused...are you saying you have an AMD 6400 but not the black edition and its normal clock speed is 3.20GHz?

Cos I happen to have the AMD 6000 and thats 3GHz normal clock speed. But with the 6400 black edition (3.2GHz) it has the ability to be overclocked maybe even as high as 4GHz with the right cooling system.

Oh and as for going for Intel...I think some of you have forgotten I am an AMD fanboy, and will always be...besides the Intel chip u have mentioned looks good but it dont touch the quad core intel...which if I had the money I would go for. :biggrin
