Hi Karl, maybe a server i.e. a dell poweredge so that you can install virtual PC or preferably VMWare Server to compliment the above as well as spend the money:biggrin.

Send it all to me... I'll hook you up with as many training materials as you can stand.

If I EVER had that much money allocated to my department for training, I'd spend a quarter of it, give half back to the company, and give raises with the remainder.

So lots of comments but not much advice.
You already have CBT nuggets, they are always good. Another one that is fairly new to the UK, but pretty popular over here in the US is TestOut. They have some really great simulations built into their software that I really like. Plus you could try Transcender, and trainlight, they both are well known too. I believe they are in the UK as well. Good luck with whatever you get.
And if you have any openings please let us know.

I guess I have to ask.... Is this money to be spent on you alone, or on your department?

Either way, I'd put a good chunk of it into books on the fundamentals of the technologies, and expand my skillset as much as I could. I've never yet been sorry I've bought a book. Even the worst books I have purchased I have learned from.

I'd also subscribe to something like Safari Online from O'Reilly or Informit. It's a great deal. The amount of money spent per month vs the amount of knowledge you can put at your fingertips at any one time ends up being a very good ratio for the subscriber.

    Hi Karl,
You could take a look at trainsignal.com, I've used them in the past and they are very good.

The Microsoft Action Pack might be an idea, if you can register for it.

Already got the action pack last quarter!!!

Money is for the department, but its only very small!!

already got a couple of poweredge servers, and just picked up a cisco router and wireless access point

Ask about jobs in Q2 next year....

Got a whole range of staff, invested in the MCDST upto MCSE books, and have video training for all of the same, so am in a good stead for getting everyone onto something. I am initially looking at the more trained/knowledgeable memebrs of staff

    I wish!

Department, and that safari online loooks quality! cheers!!!!
