    Hi Folks,
I hope someone can help!! To cut a long story short, I lost D and E drives, I mean there is nothing in the BIOS window, no primary or secondary master and slave drive. In the My Computer page I do have C drive and Floppy drive working.
Any help would be great thanks.

    Cheers Buck

    Hi Buck,

Are we talking about IDE or SATA drives?

So, you cannot see anything in the BIOS for the drive(s) attached, but can still boot in to Windows and view the "C" partition?

Are "D" and "E" on the same physical drive? Perhaps you can attach a screen capture of disk management for us (right click my computer > Manage > Disk management).

    Buck,

Since you're studying for the A+, do you have a wrist grounding strap and a screwdriver?

    Boyce -
D Drive is CD/Burner E Drive DVD. PC using IDE
The Bios states: - Pri Master C Drive
    Pri Slave none
    Sec Master none
    Sec Slave Floppy
I've attached a screen print of Disk Management.

I have got screwdrivers, howevr no wrist strap yet. I was told by some other techies that as long as you earth yourself on the dsaing it should be ok. Is that correct advice?

Listen lads - I'll be flittering in out of the forum today. I've got my nephews christening 2mrw so busy running around do stuff for sister, aswell as trying 2 get PC fixed.
I will follow your advice & thank you in advance.

Just had the IDE ribbons in the wrong way round. Well it wasn't really me, a mate of mine that knows quite a bit more about PC's than me, had reinstalled them. However I never checked them so it is my fault.

    The End..
