    Hey,

I have already posted a few messages but thought I had better properly introduce myself to the gang, because I am going to be here for a long time!!

I have been playing with PC's for a while (Used to be into gaming consoles, from Acorn Electron, Amiga (Awesome machines!) through Sega to Playstation 2) but got a PC around 1997 and have not really looked back! Been working in the industry a few years and am studying hard!!!

Done A+ and MCDST, got Network+ tomorrow!!

    So erm... hey!

    Hi all,

Network+ exam did not happen, Thomson Prometric made a **** up and tried to make me sit the 2002 Objectives exam (Which I refused!) Am going on holiday next week so have had to reschedule for the 28th!!!!!!!!!!!

    AAHHHH!

Just a quick question while I am here... I am thinking that I need to specialise in my qualifications if I want to get anywhere, but I do not know exactly what I want to do!! Just wondered if a few varied people could post up what they do and its pros/cons?!

    Thanks

Sorry about the fubar at the testing center. I had a similar experience when I tested for my CCNA. I showed up at the testing center on campus and the director took one look at me and said "What that today?"

She'd spaced that I'd been scheduled to take the CCNA. To her credit, she moved heaven and earth to try and get the test loaded but there was some fault on the university network that caused it to fail. I had to reschedule for the following week.

As far as specialization, I suppose we all eventually do that but when you are just starting out, stick to laying a solid foundation. As you progress, you'll find something that you really are good at and are interested in. Eventually, you'll specialize.
