    Dive dive dive!

To keep it short I would like to ask if any of you have studied with nitlc (National IT learning centre)(UK). I wan't to study VB and build applications primarily. I've had the salesman pitch of £???? which I hope my company will pay.

Could any of you nice people say if they had studied with nitcl and wether good or bad.

Just hoping to start my programming career and any advice would be much appreciated.

    Hi and welcome to CF!

Is your company pushing you in the direction of VB? Or is it just what you decided?

The reason I ask is that VB seems to have taken a drop in popularity these days - but if it is something that your company uses heavily then you can ignore this!

    Harry.

I would say that the first language is not always that important, I started with bits of BASIC, then the first languages I properly I learnt were Ada and COBOL. Just be prepared to keep learning new stuff. Its probably important you want to do VB if you are gonna pay alot to learn it though, is it really VB or VB .Net ? Theres a difference, quite alot of people use VB with an office app, VBA for Access or VB with Excel etc. Theres also a large automation API for word.
