Hi everyone. I'm new to the site and wanted to introduce myself and ask for any general help and advice all you knowledgable people might be able to share with me. . .

I'm currently looking into studying for the CIW (maybe with Skills Train / Sheidegger??) and wondered what other people have experienced starting out once CIW qualified.

I have a young child and once qualified would ideally not be looking to work full-time. I understand that once established, freelance opps are pretty good (I'm in Sheffield and I gather that the North generally is lacking qualified people-?), but I'm curious to know what people think about the chances of finding part-time in-house work to consolidate skills upon qualification.

This seems like the perfect community to have found - good old Google huh??

Looking forward to hearing from anyone who has positive or negative experiences to share.

Hi jenbobenbo - good to have aboard. Generally the Training & Development board is the place we points folks for these sorts of questions - have a look-see around there, and if you don't find what you're looking for, then just post your own
