I'm an oldie but goldie living in Scotland and sick of my job, have decided to join the IT community and re train for a new career. Have a love of computers and helping people out, if anyone has any advice for me, let me know.


Looking at MCDST at University, distant learing. ComptTIA A + at Pitman.

What do you think, would like to get into the security side of computing or whilst studying might find my niche.

Hi Welcome

You can do your certs by self study and you should do A+ and N+ before the MCDST as they will give you a good grounding before attempting the MCDST

 

Did you mean Comp TIA A + first ?

 

Yup... plus you may consider doing Network+ before MCDST as well.

Again, as GBL says, you can self-study Network+ too...

CompTIA also have a Security+ cert.
