    Hello all,

I first heard about the site from a tutor on the course i'm doing and have since been reminded about it by one of your members.

I just thought I'd introduce and tell you a bit about myself:

I recently passed my A+ (just before Christmas) and am working towards my MCDST (70-271). Longer term i am on the MSCE track. I'm hoping to get an entry-level job within the next month or two, once i have passed my 70-271.

I actually took an A+ course a few years back, with the local college but, I think, due to a combination of it not being so well run and me not being the best student I never ended up taking the exams - i felt i was in no way ready to do so. I then went on to do CCNA, with the same college, but failed - i wasn't even close  That knocked my confidence somewhat, but i really wanted to get in IT and I'm happy with the course i'm doing now. I realise now that CCNA was probally to advanced for me at the time; perhaps it's something i could look at again in the future.

I still feel i'm a beginner; i know my way around a pc but passing the A+ is my level right now. I look forward to getting involved and learning lots. Please bear with me :)

    Apologies for the essay :)

    Hi and welcome to CF!

Don't worry about the 'essay'. IMHO it was well written and honest. And it should give an example to the number of new entrants here who think that passing these certs is easy!

    Welcome!

Be advised that you've got to pass both 70-271 AND 70-272 to get your MCDST.

Best of luck! Let us know if you have any questions.
